Beston: The cover for Loneliness and Freedom... consists of a photo overlaid onto a simple encaustic piece. The effect is very stark, like a piece of strong Japanese calligraphy. I took the photo of a neighbor's tree in winter. Though I've done some other encaustic album covers for Raya - Rafi Benjamin's record label - this is the first I did for ART HURTS.

Here's the actual encaustic piece without the superimposed tree. The negative of this piece was added to the tree composition to make the final cover.
