Struggling Local Band

Beston: "Struggling Local Band" is a sort of painterly collage of photos of The Kitchen (taken by Eric Furze, who also helped some with the painting) mixed in with things I used to holler between songs. "Hi Vitamin C Soul, Hip-Hop, and Tropicalia," that kind of thing. Some of the photos I used are below. I've painted Gabe with his Flamengo shirt, Jano with his Bikram Yoga shirt, and myself with a "No on Prop. 54" t-shirt - a campaign against removing racial data from all government record-keeping that my wife Andrea Guerrero was running at the time.

This was the glossy The Kitchen used in promotional packages. It's actually three separate photos photoshop'd together. In the original photo, the wok Beston's holding had a light bulb, which was replaced by a photo of a forest fire clipped from National Geographic. Note: Ilana Quieroz, The Kitchen's original percussionist, is in the photo banging on a pot with Gabe. The cookbook Joe is holding has been photoshop'd to read: "The Kitchen, by Beston." The photos were taken in Andrea Guerrero's parents' kitchen in Spring Valley.
Here are some photos taken by Eric Furze when the Kitchen was playing in Pacific Beach at the Tavern.
The next five photos come from The Kitchen's studio session at Golden Track in Escondido. These were also taken by Eric Furze.
These are collages of many of the flyers from The Kitchen's 3-year existence.
Here's an early attempt at a logo for The Kitchen.
